Thank You for Supporting Our Annual Exhibition and Results!
A huge thank you to everyone who visited the Otley Camera Club Annual Exhibition yesterday. We were delighted to welcome so many visitors throughout the day and received an incredible amount of positive feedback about the quality and variety of our members’ photography. Claire Wilson-Sharp Wins Otley Camera Club Photo of the Year
Last night we held one of the highlights of the Otley Camera Club calendar — our annual Photo of the Year competition. Throughout the evening, members revisited the images that had received awards in competitions over the course of the season. Everyone then selected their three favourite images, with the scores revealed Eurovision Song Contest style. Facebook Photo of the Month Winner – Chris Burgess
We’re delighted to announce that Chris Burgess is the winner of our Facebook Group Photo of the Month for April with his touching monochrome image of a lamb being hand reared. Success for Otley Camera Club Members at the Yorkshire Photographic Union Annual Exhibition
Today marked the opening of the Yorkshire Photographic Union Annual Exhibition, one of the region’s most prestigious photographic exhibitions. The exhibition is open to all 63 camera clubs across Yorkshire, with photographers collectively submitting over 4,000 prints and digital images across a wide range of categories. We brought this season’s competitions to a close with our Portrait, People & Figure Studies competition, expertly judged by Erica Oram. The evening showcased a wide variety of images, from striking portraits to creative interpretations of the theme. We’re delighted to announce that Jamie Kirk is the winner of our latest Facebook Group Photo of the Month with this beautifully captured hummingbird portrait. On Thursday evening, Otley Camera Club welcomed Colin Williams to judge our much-anticipated Nature Competition. Last night marked the start of our competition season at Otley Camera Club, with the Open Competition. Over the past few years, our membership has grown dramatically — and that was reflected in the number of entries this time around - it must have been a record! Celebrating Creativity: Our Public Photography Competitions 2025
As part of this year’s Annual Exhibition, we were thrilled to also host two public photography competitions — one for adults and one for juniors. The response was fantastic, with nearly 50 entries showcasing a wide range of talent and creativity. Photo of the Year 2024/2025 – A Fantastic Finale!
Our final competition of the 2024/2025 season took place last night: Photo of the Year , and what a brilliant way to wrap up another fantastic season at Otley Camera Club. The format was simple but engaging. We looked back over the year, revisiting all the placed images from our competitions. Competition Results: Nature
Last Thursday, was the judging of our first competition of the new season: Nature. The evening was filled with stunning entries, showcasing the natural world through the lens of our talented members. This was not only our highest number of submissions in many years but also a milestone as many of our new members entered for the first time. It was fantastic to see such enthusiastic participation from both seasoned and new photographers, each bringing their unique perspective

Photo Of The Year
📸 Last night, we judged our 'Photo of the Year'! 🏆 Our members viewed the top 3 images from the year and discussed them in small groups. Then came the tough part: voting for their top 3 faves. The votes were counted and the winner emerged. Out of 42 images, 23 received votes, showcasing the amazing quality of all entries. However, with a clear lead of 4 points, Paul Buckley's stunning 'Passing Time' took the crown. Congrats, Paul! 👏🎉
