It's time to announce another Otley Camera Club Photo of the Month winner!
🏆 Congratulations to Emily Waring! 🎉
This month's competition once again gave last month's winner, Richard Sells, a difficult decision. There was a fantastic variety of photography among the entries, including colourful Pride photographs, landscapes, wildlife and a great car photograph.
However, it was Emily's analogue photograph that ultimately caught Richard's eye.
A photograph with a timeless feel
Richard particularly liked the photograph's muted colours and nostalgic character. To him, it had the feel of an image from another era — almost as though it had been taken in the 1950s in Provence.
It's easy to see why it stood out. The combination of the summer garden, painter at work, relaxed figures and soft, slightly faded colour gives the photograph a wonderfully timeless atmosphere.
Richard has also been enjoying following Emily's analogue photography on Instagram and felt this was one of his favourites.
There's even more reason for us to look forward to seeing what Emily produces next, as she will be joining us during our new season to give a talk. We're hoping she'll be sharing some of her experiences and adventures with analogue photography with our members.
Congratulations, Emily, on a very well-deserved Photo of the Month win! The chocolate will be awarded next week when the new season starts and the task of judging the August competition is over to you!🍫📸
And, as always, a huge thank you to everyone who entered. With such a strong selection of images, Richard certainly didn't have an easy job choosing his winner.
We look forward to seeing what everyone submits next month!
