Meet the Members: Massimiliano Malisan (Max)

Our Meet the Members series continues with a spotlight on one of our talented and dedicated members—Massimiliano Malisan, or as most of us know him, Max.

We were very fortunate when Max joined Otley Camera Club from Hebden Bridge Camera Club after relocating to the area. With his warm personality and outstanding photographic skill, Max quickly became an active and valued part of the club.

He regularly joins our photography outings and is always willing to lend a hand at community events. His enthusiasm and commitment are much appreciated—not just by fellow members, but by everyone who gets to see his work and benefit from his experience.

In addition to being a member of Otley Camera Club, Max is also on the list of official judges for the Yorkshire Photographic Union (YPU). This role sees him visiting clubs across the region to judge competitions, giving him broad insight into photographic styles, trends, and standards. We’re incredibly lucky to have someone in our club who can share that kind of perspective and expertise.

Max’s talent was recognised in this year’s Annual Exhibition, where his beautiful photograph of a gannet took First Place. The image impressed both the judges and the public, capturing the elegance and power of this striking seabird in flight.

Max’s presence in the club brings a great mix of skill, experience, and generosity—and we’re very pleased to have him with us.
