We are incredibly pleased to share an important development in the ongoing growth of Otley Camera Club: the appointment of our first ever Inclusion Officer, Danni.
As our club continues to grow, so does our commitment to ensuring that every member can participate fully, comfortably, and confidently in all aspects of club life. Photography should be accessible to everyone, and we want our club to reflect that.
What the Inclusion Officer Does
In her new role, Danni will act as a dedicated point of contact for any member who feels they may be experiencing barriers within the club. These might include:
Medical or health-related needs
SEND considerations
Mobility issues
Difficulties accessing club activities, events, or resources
Any other challenge that might impact someone’s ability to take part
Members can speak with Danni confidentially, share any concerns, and together explore solutions that help remove or reduce those barriers. This may include simple adjustments, alternative arrangements, or seeking support from the committee where needed.
Why This Role Matters
Creating an inclusive environment isn’t just about policies — it’s about people. By introducing a dedicated Inclusion Officer, we’re taking an important step toward ensuring that every member feels welcome, supported, and valued. Our goal is for Otley Camera Club to be a place where everyone can thrive, learn, create, and enjoy their photography journey.
A Big Thank You to Danni
We’re extremely grateful to Danni for suggesting and taking on this important role. Her enthusiasm, empathy, and commitment to supporting others make her the perfect person to help shape an even more inclusive future for our club.
