Meet the Members – David Baron

Travel, wildlife and adventure are at the heart of David Baron's photography. From the wildlife-rich plains of Africa to the towering peaks of the Himalayas and the Alps, his images capture the beauty and diversity of the natural world, alongside dramatic landscapes from closer to home.

Since joining Otley Camera Club two years ago, David has embraced the opportunity to develop his photography even further. The club has encouraged him to step beyond his comfort zone, exploring architecture, portraiture, black and white photography, and creative techniques such as using slower shutter speeds to capture movement.

This year David has also taken on the role of Community Officer, and he's already making a real impact by organising photography opportunities for members at events including Otley Carnival, Otley Cricket Club matches and the Otley Cycle Races. His enthusiasm for both photography and the local community is helping create even more opportunities for members to learn, photograph and enjoy the hobby together.

Whether photographing a lion on the Serengeti, a bee in a foxglove, or the Yorkshire countryside, David is always looking for the next image and the next adventure.
