AI Judging and Looking Ahead to Abstract Photography

Last night at Otley Camera Club we held one of our more experimental evenings — “Let AI Be the Judge.”

Members first voted for their own favourite five images, before we handed the judging over to Artificial Intelligence. The AI reviewed each entry, provided feedback, and selected its own top five images. It was fascinating to compare the results, and particularly interesting that there was agreement on three of the placed images. The evening sparked plenty of discussion about creativity, subjectivity, and how technology interprets visual art.

Next week we turn our attention to something equally thought-provoking as we welcome Stan Farrow for a talk on abstract photography.

Stan will explore what abstract photography really is, why photographers should challenge themselves to try it, and how embracing abstraction can influence and strengthen everyday photographic work. He’ll also share practical techniques and creative ideas to help members experiment with their own abstract images.

It promises to be an inspiring evening for photographers of all levels.

💙 We’re also pleased that this event will be raising money for the MS Society, supporting a very worthwhile cause.

We look forward to seeing you there.
