Our final competition of the 2024/2025 season took place last night: Photo of the Year, and what a brilliant way to wrap up another fantastic season at Otley Camera Club.
The format was simple but engaging. We looked back over the year, revisiting all the placed images from our competitions. Members gathered in small groups to review the photographs and reflect on the creativity and technical skill on display. Each person then voted for their top three favourites—a tough task given the high standard of work.
Once individual votes were cast, each table collated their scores. After a short break for a brew and a catch-up, we reconvened for the big reveal—done in true Eurovision style. Each table announced their scores, and the leaderboard was updated live, adding a real sense of drama to the evening.
It was incredibly close throughout, with the lead changing hands more than once. But in the final round of voting, Paul Buckley emerged as the winner, taking the title of Photo of the Year for the second year running.
👏 Congratulations to Paul for this well-deserved recognition. His image stood out not only for its technical excellence but also for its creativity and impact.
