Meet the Members: Andy Hoyle

In this edition of our Meet the Members series, we’re delighted to shine the spotlight on our Vice Chair, Andy Hoyle.

Andy first joined the club back in the 1960s, making him one of our longest-standing members. Over the decades, he’s built up an incredible wealth of knowledge and photographic experience — and what makes Andy so special is his generosity in sharing it. Whether it’s a tip on technique or advice on gear, Andy is always ready to help.

He plays a particularly active role during our practical sessions, where he’s a constant source of support for our newer and less experienced members. His patient guidance is something many of them are especially grateful for as they develop their skills.

Beyond the clubroom, Andy is also deeply involved in our community outreach. He’s often found behind the camera at the local events we support, capturing moments that tell the story of our involvement and help build lasting connections with the wider community.

We’re proud to have Andy as a cornerstone of the club — both for his contributions and for the spirit of generosity and encouragement he brings to everything he does.
