At Otley Camera Club, we’re lucky to be surrounded by passionate and talented photographers — and one of our newer members, Danni Burgess, is a fantastic example.
Danni joined us halfway through last season after attending the beginners’ photography class offered by Prince Henry's Grammar School Community Education. But it quickly became clear she’d walked into the wrong class — not because she didn’t belong, but because she was already an exceptionally good photographer!
Since joining, Danni has impressed us all with her dedication to photography. Rarely a day goes by when she isn’t out with her camera, capturing the beauty of the natural world — particularly birds, which have become one of her main subjects. Her wildlife images are often nothing short of breathtaking. More recently, Danni has begun exploring new creative directions, including street photography — a genre she was inspired to try after one of our guest speaker evenings. It’s been wonderful to watch her experiment and evolve as a photographer.
Danni’s talent hasn’t gone unnoticed. She placed 3rd in our recent Annual Exhibition and was thrilled to sell one of her images at the event — a proud moment and well-deserved recognition of her skill and creativity.
We’re delighted to have Danni as part of the club. Her enthusiasm, eye for detail, and openness to learning and sharing make her a real asset to our club. We can’t wait to see what she captures next!
