From Product Photography to Light Trails

Last week marked the conclusion of our popular Product Photography Trilogy, a three-part series designed to help members gain confidence and develop the skills needed for our upcoming product photography competition. In this final session, members who led the practical stations demonstrated how they would edit and process some of the images taken the week before. This behind-the-scenes look at different workflows offered a fantastic learning opportunity — from simple adjustments and lighting refinements to more advanced editing techniques.
Across all three sessions, our aim was to inspire, inform, and support members at every level. We hope everyone who joined us feels more prepared — and excited — to enter the Product Photography Competition later in the season.
But the learning doesn’t stop there.
Every year, we run a Long Exposure Practical Night, a firm favourite among members. This year, by request, we’ll be focusing on light trails. Next week we’ll head into Otley to capture colourful streaks of motion, headlights, and creative long-exposure effects — provided the weather is kind to us!
We’re looking forward to another fun and inspiring evening, and we can’t wait to see the images our members create.
