TWO WEEKS OF CREATIVE PRACTICALS
The last two weeks at Otley Camera Club have been all about getting creative and putting photography into practice.
Last week, members headed out around Otley for a photography scavenger hunt. Working in groups, they were given a series of themes to capture – from movement, shadows and reflections to architecture, colour and detail. Each group also had to come up with their own themes and challenge another group!
The results show just how differently our members approached the challenges.
We've put together the images from each group so you can see the range of ideas, interpretations and techniques they came up with.
Then this Thursday, we brought the practical indoors for Capture the Feeling.
Working in groups, members were given different emotions and challenged to create an image that represented the feeling – but with one important rule: think beyond facial expressions!
Could sadness be rain running down a window? Could excitement be shown through movement or light? The challenge was to think creatively about how photography can communicate an emotion.
Two very different practical sessions, but both demonstrating what we love about our club – experimenting, sharing ideas, learning from each other and having fun with photography.
