Keira is one of Otley Camera Club's most accomplished photographers, having been awarded Photographer of the Year in 2019, 2020 and 2021, as well as winning Photo of the Year in 2023.
These achievements reflect not only her technical skill but also her ability to produce outstanding images across a wide range of photographic genres.
However, as you can see from this selection of photographs, nature and wildlife photography hold a special place in Keira's heart. Many early mornings, countless hours in hides, and a great deal of patience are invested in creating images like these. Her dedication is rewarded with remarkable encounters and photographs that capture behaviour, character and fleeting moments in nature.
One of the striking qualities of Keira's photography is her ability to connect the viewer with the subject. Whether it is the direct gaze of a hare, the watchful stare of a fox, or the imposing presence of red deer stags, many of her images are captured at eye level, allowing us to see the world from the animal's perspective. This approach creates an immediate connection and draws the viewer into the scene.
The collection also demonstrates Keira's versatility within wildlife photography, from dramatic action shots of kingfishers and kestrels to intimate portraits of mammals and beautifully observed macro images of butterflies. Each photograph combines excellent fieldcraft, technical expertise and an obvious passion for the natural world.
Thank you to Keira for sharing her photographs with us this week.
