📸 Meet The Members – Chris Burgess 📸
This week in our summer Meet The Members series we're featuring Chris Burgess.
Chris has recently rediscovered his love of photography. A lifelong outdoor enthusiast, he has always enjoyed hiking and exploring the countryside, particularly in and around the Yorkshire Dales, often with a camera tucked into his pocket. However, like many of us, the demands of everyday life meant that photography had to take a back seat for a number of years.
Following the lockdown period, Chris found a renewed focus and used photography as a reason to get back outdoors, explore new places and see familiar locations in a different way. Treating himself to a new camera marked the beginning of what he describes as his journey "through my eyes".
Although Chris enjoys photographing a wide range of subjects, he has a particular passion for landscapes and the natural world. Whether experimenting with long exposures, creating striking monochrome images or simply capturing scenes that catch his eye while out exploring, his photography is inspired by the places he visits and the experiences he enjoys along the way.
Over the last few years, Chris has worked hard to develop his technical skills, particularly in the art of producing high-quality prints. He is also a passionate supporter of the club and is always willing to share his knowledge, regularly mentoring and encouraging fellow members as they develop their own photography.
Chris recently took on the role of Chair of Otley Camera Club, a position he is proud to hold as he helps guide and support the club through its next chapter.
You can find more of Chris's work on his website, throughmyeyes.uk, and on social media @chrismburgess.
Thank you to Chris for sharing his photographs with us this week.
