Become a Better Landscape Photographer - RETURN TO OLD LOCATIONS!

In this video, I'm sharing 11 Professional Tips to help you get the most out of your photography when you keep returning to the same location. Last week, I went on a week-long photography roadtrip to Scotland. First stop, Raatray lighthouse. It's an incredible spot. It's an amazing location, and I absolutely love it for so many reasons. But here's the thing, I've already photographed there twice before, so, is it really worth going back? spoiler alert, yes it most definitely is! I'm a big fan of returning to the same place. Honestly, I think you should go back as often as you want. The odds of capturing the exact same shots are highly unlikely. The weather, the light and lots of other conditions are likely to be different, will factor in that. If you've been putting off a return visit because you're worried about taking the same photos, this video is definitely for you. Don't skip the 11th tip, it's by far the most important. A Pleasant Surprise After Sunrise - I LOVED THIS IMAGE!

In this video, I take on the challenge of photographing Mumbles Lighthouse, shooting directly into the sun. It’s a difficult technique, but incredibly rewarding when done well! A couple of weeks ago, I met up with my good friend and fellow Welsh photographer Gareth Danks to capture this iconic landmark, located in Swansea, South Wales. Although I’ve filmed Fine Art videos at this location before (link below), this was my first time actually creating, what I call, normal landscape images here, and what a stunning spot it is. For any landscape photographer, this area offers endless possibilities. What really surprised me was how I managed to keep shooting even after the sun had risen above the horizon. Photographing straight into the sun is no easy task, but when it works, the results can be spectacular. In this video, I set out to capture the beauty of the Green Bridge of Wales, said to be the best Welsh photography location, both during the day and at night. Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting this incredible location for the very first time. It was a fantastic experience, made even better by the company of my great friend and fellow professional photographer, Gareth Danks. In fact, it was Gareth who recommended I check out this stunning part of Wales, I’m so glad I did. It certainly didn’t disappoint! In case you’re wondering, the Green Bridge of Wales is a striking natural limestone arch located along the Pembrokeshire coast. It was formed over thousands of years through the power of coastal erosion, and it’s a truly breathtaking sight, an amazing subject to photograph too. I hope you enjoy the video! Whiteford Lighthouse Landscape Photography – The Gift of Light!

In this video, titled "Whiteford Lighthouse Landscape Photography," I set out to capture stunning images of the iconic, and frankly, awesome-looking, Whiteford Lighthouse. A couple of weeks ago, my good mate Lee and I took a short road trip to Wales. My main goal was to photograph this incredible lighthouse, located on the northwestern tip of the Gower Peninsula in South Wales. What started as a single trip quickly turned into three! Trip One – Total disaster. We got lost twice, and when we finally found our way, Lee’s electric bike chain snapped. We ended up walking back to the vans, about two miles with a dead e-bike in tow. Not fun. Lee had to drive an hour away to get it fixed. Trip Two – I headed out solo early in the morning, aiming to shoot the lighthouse at high tide. Conditions were perfect… until I realised I’d forgotten my filters. Muppet!
