Subject: The Great Outdoors.  It’s up to you how you interpret it but we’re looking for stunning photographs taken outdoors.

 

Rules:

 

  • Professional photographers are not eligible to enter. For the purposes of this competition, a professional photographer will be considered to be someone who makes more than 10% of their annual income from photography.

 

  • There will be two sections: ‘Youth’ – up to and including 17 year olds and ‘Adults’ – 18 years and above. 

 

 

  •  Images must be no bigger than 5mb in size and should be saved as the title of your image.

 

  • All entries must be the candidate’s own work. 

 

  • Digital photography does allow for some image enhancement. You can enter images that have had spots, scratches or other blemishes removed. You can have worked on the colour or enhanced the image for the sake of the composition. You can also crop the image to improve composition.  We will not accept entries that superimpose elements photographed separately onto an image.

 

  • Each person can enter up to 3 images, each one accompanied with: the candidates ‘Name’, ‘Section’, email address and a ‘Contact telephone number’.  We will not share this information with a 3rd party and will only communicate with you regarding the competition.

 

  • Entries for the ‘youth’ section must include their parents’ / guardians’ email address and a contact number.  They must have sought permission from their parent / guardian to enter. If we need to make contact regarding an entry into the youth category we will only do so via their parent / guardian.

 

  • There will be no entry fee

 

  • All images may be used for publicity purposes by Otley Camera Club. 

 

  • Receipt of entries cannot be acknowledged.

 

  • The final date on which entries will be accepted for the competition is under review.

 

  • All entries will be displayed digitally at our Annual Exhibition at Otley Parish Church on Saturday 23rd and 24th May 2020.  

 

  • Judging will be completed by a panel of judges made up of invited guests and Otley Camera Club members.  The judges decision will be final, no individual feedback will be available and no discussions entered into regarding decisions.

 

  • The results of the competition will be announced at our Annual Exhibition Evening event which starts at 7pm Saturday 23rd May.  This is a ticketed (£5) charity event which is open to the general public. Anyone below the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at the event.  Results will be announced shortly after on the OCC website.

 

  • Current members of Otley Camera Club are unable to enter the competition.

  • The club resreves the right to cancel or ammend the competition at any point.

 

Prizes

 

Youth Section

 

1st Place - £50 worth of photographic vouchers, trophy.

 

2nd Place - £30 worth of photographic vouchers.

 

3rd Place - £20 worth of photographic vouchers.

 

Adult Section

 

1st Place - £100 worth of photographic vouchers, one year’s free membership to Otley Camera Club’s 2020/2021 season, trophy

 

2nd Place - £50 worth of photographic vouchers, one year’s free membership to Otley Camera Club’s 2020/2021 season.

 

3rd Place - £25 worth of photographic vouchers, one year’s free membership to Otley Camera Club’s 2020/2021 season.

 

Please note that there are no cash equivalents for these prizes.
