I photograph what gives me an emotional response and all my images are personal, i.e. I take them for me. I don’t go out to chase exhibition images; if I did I think I would be very disappointed. My current lecture covers a variety of subjects from some interesting Sporting events (like Bull running in Spain). Some Landscape work, a bit of Street photography and some other areas that have interested me. I then move on to my studio and location work which feature a range of great models that I have had the pleasure to work with. This work which will feature Portraiture, Fashion, Dance and a few of my Artistic Nude figure studies. A number of these images have received awards from Salons around the world. Hopefully the talk will illustrating my personal response to the photographic opportunities I am presented with. This is not a technical talk but I do talk about the lighting I have used and I am happy to answer any questions you may have about an image and how I produced it.
I started my photography in the days of films – my first camera was a Kodak 127 which my parents bought me. I then moved on to a Zorki-4. My first SLR was an Olympus OM-1 moving on to Canon in later years. I then had a sabbatical away from photography for a number of years and then when a trip to Hong Kong was arranged, I purchased my first digital camera a Sony 5.1 mega pixel Cyber-shot. I was hooked again and now work I work with a Fuji XT-2 for travel and a Fuji GFX in the studio. I am a past Chairman of Ilkley Camera Club and also of the Gamma Photoforum. I enter international Salon exhibitions and I have achieved a rare achievement of been awarded three London Salon medals in consecutive years, which is a great achievement. I now work in projects and enjoy working with Dancers and other creatives to make great images
