New Start, New Season
Thursday 2nd of September saw the new season start for Otley Camera Club. We tried a hybrid meeting with people in the club room and people joining in via Zoom from home which seemed to work well. It was good to meet with people old faces and new in person again - I think we'd forgotten a little how important the social aspect of being in a club is. So we had a run down of the season, which is an exciting mix of speakers, practical's, fun nights and competitions. Full details can be seen under the "Programme" section of the website. Our comp secretary went over the details of the latter in detail and we also had a break down on "Print Club" which is run by Richard Sells as an easy way for members to enter the Print sections of our comps.
After the break we did a short award ceremony for the winners of last years years competitions which looked like this... Monthly Competitions - First Place
Scapes - Keira Thorogood
Animals - James Grimmitt
Action/Movement - Keira Thorogood
Three - Jerry Marriner and Les Smart (tied)
People - Keira Thorogood

A big well done to all who took part and received awards and certificates, especially Keira who for the third year on the trot was our overall winner.
Our next meeting is a talk from photographer Amy Bateman "My Life - Farming and Photography"
