And We're Off!
The new season has now begun and what a season I think it will be. Okay we're still not able to meet physically due to Covid, but Zoom has proved itself time and time again to be a very useful tool, and very much up to the job of keeping our club alive. We've been able to successfully conduct competitions, run socials and listen to speakers which due to cost and geography we would never have been able to set up under normal circumstances. We've run joint camera club evenings with clubs as far afield as Essex and basically had a ball!
Of course it will be good when we can physically meet again, but for the time being we're doing alright and of course our 'Out and Abouts' have started again now (in a socially distanced manner), so at least we do get to see each other in some capacity.
Our first night back saw the introduction of the new season's programme which was met with lots of enthusiasm. We've got all sorts planned including speakers covering wildlife, architecture, macro, commercial studio, landscape and creative art composites. We've got practicals planned in the new year (fingers crossed we're able to meet by then), and online photo processing tutorials along with lots of social events and competitions. What's not to like?
I for one am very much looking forwards to this season and can't wait to get started with the wildlife photographer Tesni Ward next week.
