This week Otley Camera Club was given a very special talk by Oliver Wright. Oliver's photography talk covered a year in his life and what a year he had last year! I don't think there was any member of the Club who wasn't a little envious of his trips abroad and the fabulous photographs he was able to take.
However, I think probably the highlight for many were Oliver's insect macro shots. Oliver has spent many extremely early mornings in search of sleepy insects perfectly poised for his camera. He mostly, although not always, uses a tripod and a rail to take a series of macro shots which he then stacks together in post processing. The resultant images are incredibly detailed and absolutely fantastic.
Next season Oliver will be visiting the club in person to do a practical macro session with us. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we can't wait!
