Spring Photography Exhibition
Otley Camera Club are pleased to announce our spring exhibition at Otley Parish Church on Sat/Sun 1st/2nd April.
The exhibition will showcase members prints, some of which will be available for purchase.
The church cafe will be open to have a tea or coffee and cakes. And whilst you take a break from shopping relax and watch our newsreel highlighting some of the local events the camera club have photographed, including the day the 'Tour de France' visited Otley in 2014.
Profits from the exhibition will be donated to charity. The two charities we have chosen are Askwith Toddler Group and Otley and District Talking Newspaper.
The Toddler Group have a shed in which they store toys, unfortunately the shed has seen better days and is now full of holes resulting in the toys being covered in green mould and as such is a potential health hazard. Funds are being raised to replace the shed and buy new toys.
Otley & District Talking Newspapers has been delivering the local news to listeners who are Blind or Partially Sighted since 1984. It is delivered on a memory stick free of charge by the Post Office. The talking newspaper is sent to listeners in Adel, Bramhope, Cookridge, Guiseley, Horsforth, Menston, Pool in Wharfedale, Rawdon and Otley.
The Talking Newspaper relies on volunteers to create the weekly news so that listeners get the news hot off the press usually on a Saturday morning. The Talking Newspaper is always looking for new members as listeners enjoy hearing the new voices. Production usually takes place on a Friday lunchtime and early afternoon so if you can spare an hour on a shared rota do please contact them. More details can be obtained from either firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Leaflets will also be available at the exhibition so do call in for a chat. We too will be pleased to hear your story.
Entry to the exhibition is free but we also welcome you to join us for a cheese and wine reception on the Saturday evening. Tickets can be purchased at the following venues: Browns Gallery, The Core (Otley Town Council) , Otley Parish Church, Steccas Barbers, Silk Sisters, Java Cafe (in the Kirkgate Arcade) and Otley Courthouse.
